Lenny Smith – How to present images for Competitions. Club Night 28 Sept 21

Had a great night last night at the club. Good attendance and some more new members, nearly at our maximum of 40. Lenny did a very interesting and educational talk on cropping images, monochrome images and presenting images for competitions. Full committee meeting tonight so hopefully we will have a syllabus that will be just about ready to print.
Thanks to all the members for supporting this great club and re-joining after being in a bit of turmoil for a while. Great to see a new energetic committee with some new and fresh ideas. Looks like a very exciting year for SPG.

Important Notice

So at long last we have a date for our first meeting since February last year.
Speyside Photography Group will meet in the Elgin Library on Tuesday 7th September at 7pm and every Tuesday up to the end of March with the exception of 21st and 28th of December.
Our first meeting will be to appoint a new committee so that we can move forward and get the club up and running again. Please put your names forward to join the committee or unfortunately there will be no club. Bill, Michael and myself will still be the backbone of the club until March at least. Hopefully a new committee will then be in place with the same enthusiasm and determination as we have shown to take this very successful club to the next level.
If you have something to say, a question to ask or want to be on the committee then please come early as the library will only allow 40 people due to covid restrictions.
It has been a very difficult time this last one and a half years for everybody but hopefully we can now see some light at the end of the tunnel and can look forward to our Tuesday nights once more.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – SPG MEETINGS CANCELLED

IMPORTANT NOTICE – SPG MEETINGS CANCELLED

The health of our members is very important and due to the latest guidance from the government issued today regarding the Coronavirus it is with regret that the SPG committee has decided to cancel all further meetings this season.

The AGM will be scheduled at a later date to be advised.

Guest Speaker – Kim Grant

Last night we had guest speaker Kim Grant giving us a presentation on Landscape Photography and it was brilliant. We really wanted Kim to come to the club and do a talk for a few reasons, her passion and enthusiasm for photography as well as the fact that Kim is a local lass and loves taking pictures on the Moray Coast, so her approach to photography is something we can all relate to as well. We really hope you enjoyed it as I know that Kim loved coming to see us all at SPG and I’m sure we will be asking Kim to come back for another captivating presentation.

We really hope you have been inspired by Kim to get out with your camera and take some fantastic landscapes and seascapes.

Tuesday 12/11/2019 – Light Painting

This Tuesday we have Painting With Light with Michael Ross, and his glamorous assistant Thomas Thain (lol) who has kindly offered toff his pixel stick to the members.  For those that were there last year it was great fun and was suggested and encouraged by members to be put in for this year’s syllabus.  Seeing as we have such a great place to do this at the Golf Club we would like members to take a light of any sort and colour and if we have time to get into groups of 5, find a safe space and try doing it yourselfs.  Michael and Tommy will be on hand to help.

Remember to bring your camera with a fully charged battery and empty memory card. A tripod and remote shutter release as well if you have one.

Come and show us your creativity 😀.
